Good Read
I like this site because as you choose your subject of interest, and they actually suggest quality "good reads", so this is something you would want to do for yourself, and students could use this for their own interests.
The Brown Bookshelf
The Brown Bookshelf is a blog with a selection of picture books, middle grade and young adults novels all written and/or illustrated by African Americans. This blog is to spread awareness for these book and is a great resource if you are looking for books. This blog gives great book tittles for the Month of February (Black History Month) for a 28 day initiative but also GREAT titles year round for all students!

Teaching Heart - Units and Themes
This is a great resource for a list of units and themes, but when you click on each link it brings up activities, games, and books that are great to use within each unit and theme. For example, if you have a student who loves football, click "football" (units and themes are alphabetical) and there you go a list of activities, books and more that ALL have to do with football!

ReplyDeleteThese are all excellent resources. My favorite link was the brown bookshelf, however the Am I choosing the right book link was also extremely helpful. I would definitely come back here if I was searching for resources to use in a classroom or with a student.
