Book Leveling

There are several sites here that will help you determine if the books you have chosen for your students are at their appropriate reading level.  Some cost money while others are free. 


Leveled Book Database

This site is free and easy. Just type in the title of your book and it will tell you what the reading level is.

Comcast

This site is helpful because you choose a grade level and it gives you suggestions on books. It also provides information on the grade level and guided reading level for each book.

Hubbards Cupboard

Hubbards Cupboard is a great website with numerous resources. It gives you information on guided reading, running records, and of course book leveling.

Fountas and Pinnell 

This is Fountas and Pinnell's website for leveled books and more. This site has a membership fee, but it is approved by the professionals themselves.

Scholastic Bookwizard

Scholastic is always a great resource for education, and they have recently added bookwizard.  You can type in the title if you have a book in mind and it will tell you the what level it is, or you can search by author and it will give you books written by them.
